Trick 'r Treat graphic novel!
Woo! I worked on the comic adaptation of Michael Dougherty's horror flick Trick 'r Treat (along with Mark Andreykos, Grant Bond, Mike Huddleston, and Christopher Gugliotti) back in 2007 when it was first supposed to come out. Despite rave reviews across the board, WB kept shelving the movie, but now it seems Trick 'r Treat will be released on DVD this Halloween.
The graphic novel comes out from WildStorm on October 7. Here's one of my pages, and Slashfilm.com has a few more.

Also, in CBR's "Month of Art Stars," June 8 belongs to me! Yeah, that was yesterday, but I just saw it. This is the best part:
"As you can see, she has a particular knack for drawing teens."
Thanks CBR, and big thanks to Fraze for picking me!

NORTH 40 process on Comic Monsters

Comicmonsters.com asked for a little run-down of my process, so you can see it here. Thumbnails to finished page, and also some concept sketches I did in like 2007 for the original NORTH 40 pitch.
If you pick up the series, you may notice that the old Sheriff gradually becomes more handsome as I work my way through Aaron's awesome scripts and become increasingly impressed by all the cool shit the Sheriff does.

Drink & Draw catch up
What do all these things have in common? I've never had to draw any of them for an actual job. Okay, I get paid to draw robots all the time, but they're always huge ones and almost never shaped like bells, cats, or Reggie's little cousin that he dressed up in paper cones to play a prank on Archie.
Bots:

Everybody drew Cable last week. I don't know exactly what he looks like, but I have a general idea:
(the stunning background explosion was rendered by Caleb, whose name is almost Cable)

An "ugly pinup girl" for Laura:

Newsarama: Aaron Williams feature!
He talks in depth about NORTH 40 with greater eloquence and less nervous laughter than I. It makes ME want to read the book. Great interview here!

To summarize
Ok, well, it's been a really busy few weeks! Three weeks ago was the Calgary Expo, where Vicious Ambitious's ROCKET JUICE debuted:

That's the sci-fi anthology in which my first TEENS IN LOVE IN SPACE strip appears! I hope to do many more.
I also did a Wolverine "Art Appreciation" variant cover for War Machine #5- a tribute to John Singer Sargent (kind of a daunting task). I painted him as Patch:

Last weekend, of course, was FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, and I went up to Happy Harbor in Edmonton with Nick, Steve Gervais and Chris Peterson for a dinner, movie, all-day sketching/signing, BBQ, party, interview with Ed the Sock and Liana K, hotel room gambling, and fried breakfast. Steve Rolston won all my laundry money again with one of his handcrafted games of chance. And Steph Chan did a really good writeup of the day for CBR.

(Steve R, me, Nick, Chris P, Steve G at Happy Harbor)

Drink & Draw
I went to Seattle last weekend for the Emerald City Comic-con! It was really great and we went to a bar that had a "wheel of drink specials" so now I think Teens in Love in Space is going to have something similar.
Drink & Draw last night at Dickens Pub was EXCEPTIONAL because Brendan McGuigan (Synthosaurus, Teens in Love in Space: The Song musician) and his friend James were DJing there. We are hoping that will become a regular thing.

NORTH 40 on CBR!

There's the issue #1 cover! Here's a great interview with writer Aaron Williams, and a couple of preview pages!
People keep asking me what this comic is about and Aaron gives a way better description than I do.
